A Family Session | Edmonton

August 31, 2010

It is amazing what one year can bring and how fast life changes.

For people who regularly visit my blog, you may recognize this mom from the Rock the Dress session last summer.   This summer, she contacted me to document the newest addition to their family, a beautiful baby boy.

Congratulations again.  I wish you all the love, happiness and joy that children bring to our lives.

Edmonton Family Session

August 30, 2010

It has been a week and a half since my last blog posting, so I’ll make this one extra special!!  I have known this family for quite a while through my sister.  And when they asked me to shoot their family pictures, I was very honoured.

So what do you do with two young kids and a late afternoon shoot?  Well, you take them to a dirt road in the middle of Alberta and let them run through wheat fields, have frog finding missions and see who can swat the most mosquitos.  And what outdoor adventure wouldn’t be complete without a few rocks to throw into a stream…it always amazes me how kids can find the best things to do in the middle of nowhere.

J and B, I hope you enjoy your family pictures and thank you for having two of the best behaved kids.

Enjoy!!

Marcela and Arron’s wedding was definitely one of my top 5 favourite weddings.  Small and intimate with every detail taken care of and finished to perfection.  Marcela was exquisite in her wedding dress and Arron was very dapper in his suit.  They chose to have their ceremony in the stunning outdoor sculpture garden of the Alberta Art Gallery and their dinner with 40 of their closest family and friends at Character’s Restaurant.  Ashley from Simply Unique Weddings did a fabulous job of transforming Marcela and Arron’s ideas into reality.  To end the day on a sweet note, treats from Duchess Bake Shop, yummers!!

Marcela and Arron, I hope you enjoy your wedding pictures sneak peek.  I had a wonderful day with you and I wish you all the best.Enjoy!!

I love my job as a photographer…but I really love it when I can tell the story of two people I know very well.  Erin is my sister-in-law and the giggly light of the family and Brian is a wonderful guy who grounds her but then gets caught up in her laughter.  They compliment each other so well.  Without saying too much and embarrassing them, I will let my pictures speak for themselves.

Congratulations again Erin and Brian.  Enjoy your sneak peek.

A few years back I had the privilege of documenting Crystal and Shane’s wedding at Fort Edmonton Park.  That was the first time I met Angela, she was in Crystal’s wedding party.  Fast forward a couple years and it is now her turn to walk down that aisle.

Angela and Jake are a photographers’ dream.  Not only are they absolutely gorgeous, but they chose to meet prior to the start of their ceremony to do some pictures.  This doesn’t happen too often for me, but I love it.  It is such a special time with jitters still in their stomaches and the look of amazement in their eyes.

Congratulations to the happy and lovely couple.  Thanks for being fun, spontaneous and adorable.  I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Enjoy.

Once all the appropriately formal pictures were done, the couple surprised me with very dapper and sophisticated props!!  (I love it when this happens.)
