Speaking from experience, moms are always the last people to get a picture with their children. We are the ones usually holding the camera or making sure everyone looks good or wiping up the bit of drool before the picture is taken. So here is a sneak peek (I will post more soon) of a mini-winter family session I had the privilege to shoot this warm January weekend!!

Cold Wind and A Grain Elevator | Calgary Family Photographer
January 12, 2011Photographers have this ongoing debate about taking pictures of their own families. Some find it extremely easy and others find it the most difficult shoot they will ever do. I tend to lean towards the difficult side, but in my case I find it next to impossible to take pictures of my own kids and my niece and nephew (as they have so many better things to do than to listen to me). But for someone who went into this shoot with severe trepidation and prepared to be completely frustrated, it went surprisingly well. Maybe our little family has past the hurdle of not listening when I pull out my camera or maybe the bribe of a candy store once we were finished actually worked this time. Well, whatever the reason, I am happy to share a little of my Alberta-self on the blog (including the cold wind and the grain elevator).
Enjoy.
My sister’s kids.
My young-at-heart parents. (No mom, I’m not calling you old)
A Beautiful Red Deer Family
January 10, 2011Another Beautiful Boudoir Session | Calgary Boudoir Photographer
January 6, 2011I love it when I get permission to post a few boudoir images up on the blog. Here is one to inspire fantastic Valentine’s Day present ideas!! Whether it is an album for your loved one or a gift certificate for a session, either one is a great gift idea.
This is my beautiful client A. She is gorgeous and surprised her husband with an album for their 9th anniversary (I know he loved it because he wrote me an email to say thank you, which doesn’t happen too often). Anyway, I’m glad that you enjoyed your session A and I LOVE how your album turned out…beautiful!!
