A few years back I had the privilege of documenting Crystal and Shane’s wedding at Fort Edmonton Park.  That was the first time I met Angela, she was in Crystal’s wedding party.  Fast forward a couple years and it is now her turn to walk down that aisle.

Angela and Jake are a photographers’ dream.  Not only are they absolutely gorgeous, but they chose to meet prior to the start of their ceremony to do some pictures.  This doesn’t happen too often for me, but I love it.  It is such a special time with jitters still in their stomaches and the look of amazement in their eyes.

Congratulations to the happy and lovely couple.  Thanks for being fun, spontaneous and adorable.  I wish you all the happiness in the world.

Enjoy.

Once all the appropriately formal pictures were done, the couple surprised me with very dapper and sophisticated props!!  (I love it when this happens.)

Whenever I meet my couples and they ask me where they should do their pictures, I always answer…”somewhere meaningful for you as a couple”.  Caroline and Eldon’s answer to this question was a sushi restaurant in downtown Edmonton where they met.  So there we went…wedding party and all to the actual booth where they first saw each other (so cute!!).

Caroline and Eldon you are such a wonderful couple and you compliment each other perfectly!!  Thank you for trusting us to document one of the most important days of your lives.  This is an honour that we don’t take lightly and we hope we have captured the story of your day.  Enjoy the sneak peek…and I am holding a few of my favourites for the album.

We had so much fun with Gren and Kelly’s wedding party, family and friends and by the end of the day we felt like we were part of the family.  They kept us in stitches and even roasted the ‘intern’ a couple times.  But my husband took it all in stride.  We spent a crazy afternoon wandering around downtown Calgary and ended just before the wind and dust storm that blew in.

Gren and Kelly, thank you for being such a great couple to work with.  You have wonderful friends and family surrounding you.   I hope we captured the love, respect and admiration you have not only for each other but for all those that surrounded you on your day.  Congratulations on your marriage and we hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

We had a great time with Angela and Chris and their wedding party.  They were a lot of fun and a little crazy (kinda like me), so it was just like being home!!  When we met to discuss locations, they were totally into finding places that meant a lot to them.   We went to Angela’s great-grandparent’s original homestead (100+ years old) and farm that is still in her family (so fantastic).  We also found an old farm truck on the side of the road and for a little color, some shipping containers (not that they were meaningful…just plain fun).

Angela and Chris, thanks for ‘channeling the romance’ and finding your inner diva (Angela…not Chris).  We hope you enjoy your honeymoon in California and your sneak peek at a few pictures.

I live for weddings that are a perfect blend of laughter and tears and family (kinda like my own).  This was THAT wedding.  Joanne has such an awesome sense of style and the 1950′s wallpaper in her vintage bedroom (see shoe pic below) really sums up their wedding.  The ceremony took place at the Muttart Gardens Gazebo, then we travelled to a bowling alley and finished off with a little urban action.  A great big thanks to the wonderful staff at the Bonnie Doon Bowling Lanes for accommodating us on their 50th anniversary!!  (This was where Jared and Joanne had their first date and where Jared’s grandparents used to hang out).  I LOVE shooting with meaning if you haven’t heard that from me in the past couple of blogs.

I knew when I met them that we were going to have a fantastic time together, and we did.  Thanks so much for being such a great couple and I hope you enjoy your images for years to come.
